My Movie Review for District 9

well, obviously it's a movie bout aliens. it's more like a semi-documentary, with those interviews...

the setting is Johannesburg, where an alien mothership got stalled. humans then forced entry into the ship, and brought the aliens there down to earth to be refugees. what was a refugees' camp soon turned into a slum, and it was named District 9. the co-existence between man and alien was somewhat peaceful at first, till some incidents and unhappiness occurred (well, happens in every multiracial state), and the humans want the aliens out. so then begins the resettlement of the aliens to a place outside of Johannesburg. this is where the main plot really starts.

this story is not about a war, human abducted (there's alien abducted instead) nor is it like any other alien movies i've watched before, where they come to conquer our planet, eat us, or play with us. it's a story of how the aliens got stuck on earth, being discriminated, how they survived in District 9, how 2 of them planned their escape back to their home planet (since the past 20 years), and how one man went against all odds to set things right again, hoping to return to his normal life and family. this movie also show some of humans' nature, as well as the aliens' too. humans are more evil in this movie. it shows greed, arrogance, self-centeredness, foolishness, cowardice, betrayal, cover-ups, and finally, a change of heart (and i thought it wouldn't occur). an alliance was made between a representative of both worlds to help each other out. and a promise.

in the end, i have 2 questions in my head. perhaps, a sequel?

Back again

Sekian lamanya aku telah "menghilangkan" diri daripada dunia blog ini... i'm back again. lazy guy like me, so difficult to maintain this blog lols... i have a lot to write about, but feel so lazy. and when i wanna write, i've forgotten bout them lols. like now. so now i'll be typing what comes to my mind at the moment.

Ragging. this guy(s), conducting ragging sessions with the juniors... poor fellas (juniors). reason for ragging? i have no idea bout the rest, but one mentioned bout getting revenge. on who? innocent juniors. wait, what is the definition of "revenge"? isn't it getting back at the one who caused the pain or feeling or whatever? so why are they doing it on the juniors, but not the seniors who ragged them? what a pointless reason to rag the juniors. what revenge go get back at the seniors la... no guts ke... turn on the weak n innocent... so lame.

oh, just got my hands on an album by lady gaga. liked some of the songs, but not all. thanks to my dearest good friend for this! i'm always in search of good songs/music, be it old or new, and of any genre. except metallic... it's pointless banging to me... not my taste...

i miss my piano... har har har... can't play it. at least i've got my guitar with me... but i'm just an amateur at guitar >.< at least can do some strumming... learning some songs now...

Bad start

Totally bad start for a new year... or is it? You decide.

3 days ago when i wanted to withdraw money from an ATM, the transaction failed. oh i have another account from my ptptn loan. ok use that and... failed too. huh? maybe it's the machine's error. i'll just wait for tomorrow then.

the next day. failed again! hmmm... 2 different ATM machines from 2 different banks... same result. but this time i only tried with my first ATM card. third ATM machine - failed! what the...

the following day, different machine again, different bank again, failed again. ... what a crappy timing for this kinda thing to happen. i only have RM26 (thanks to some debt i collected lols), and my car's petrol is seriously LOW and the landlord is coming to collect the rent TOMORROW! talk about bad timing.

oh, before i collected the debt that morning, i went to a shop for breakfast. ordered food and drink and sat now comfortably... after a moment i realized i only had RM1 in my wallet... ooo... (-_-) S.O.S. to my friend. lucky enough he hasn't gone to class...

then i went to the last ATM machine i could get to before i go to the bank the next day to ask about this problem of mine. yeah as expected, failed again... but wait, i then remembered i had another account for the ptptn loan... bummer (-_-) yeah, success!! lucky that i kept the ptptn loan for emergencies...

happy ending after all... (?) still bad start (-_-)
